Imperial College – Actuarial Careers Fair 2011

We feel very proud to once again have sponsored Imperial College Actuarial Careers Fair!

As always the event was excellent – both the evening itself and the companies who attended.

Special thanks of course go to Imperial College for having organized such a great evening, offering us great atmosphere and a wonderful opportunity for Business networking… all accompanied with floods of wine and more sushi than in down town Tokyo!

We were truly delighted to be in the presence of such important guests as AON, Buck Consultants, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Inside Careers, Mercer, Milliman, Pricewaterhouse Cooper, The Actuarial Profession, Towers Watson and last but not least Zurich Financial Services.

Therefore, THANK YOU ALL!

We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did and that you had the chance to meet good grads!

Thanks again, we hope to see you all very soon!

Successful and Oversubscribed

Yesterday’s Actuarial careers fair at Imperial College Business School was a great success.

Word is spreading and the evening was oversubscribed so we had to stop taking applications.

Watch this space for photographs of the evening which should be posted online soon.

Largest Ever Fair Tomorrow

Tomorrow’s Actuarial Careers Fair at Heriot Watt is set to be our largest ever with 15 actuarial employers in attendance.

The fair will be held in the Ceder Suite but will also burst out into the adjoining corridor so the room should be easy to find.

This is a fantastic opportunity to meet a wide range of employers and we look forward to building on our previous success.

If you are based closer to London then don’t forget that we are also holding a similar event together with the Imperial College Business School on the 10th of November.

Event Planning at Imperial

We went for a meeting at the Imperial College Business School to discuss arrangements for the next careers fair.

It was agreed that last year’s event was an overwhelming success with many of the companies in attendance able to recruit interns and entry level students. A number of the companies attending, who previously had not sponsored students for the Imperial MSc have said that they will now be sponsoring students for future intakes.

Once again it will be an evening event but this time it will be held in the Autumn term and will start with some talks highlighting aspects of the Actuarial Finance MSc course at Imperial. There will be wine, cheese and light refreshments and networking oprotunities with the companies participating.

Actuarial Careers Evening – A Great Success

Last night’s GAAPS Actuarial careers event at Imperial College Business School was a great success.

The lecture theatre was packed with students and recent graduates for a presentation about the actuarial profession by Dr Geraldine Kaye and about the Imperial MSc in Actuarial Finance by Tony Hewitt and Liam Mayne.

The presentation was followed by a drinks reception which provided a perfect networking opportunity for the students to speak to actuarial employers about their future careers.
